She worked at Automatic Radio in Brookline, McElroy Electronics and Association Films, both in Littleton, as a clerk.
She was an avid reader and was active in the Massachusetts Association of School Business. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Anne Church in Littleton.
Besides her husband, her survivors include two sons, John W. Hathaway II of Littleton and Leslie Hathaway of Westford; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Paula Slinger of Milton; four grandchildren, John, Christopher, Mark and Jeremy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Juliette Lamore, Violet Olson and Barbara Fairbairn.
