Mrs. Sarah Powers Kozak, 73, Independence, died Tuesday at the Independence Regional Health Center. She was born in Nevada, Mo., and lived in this area most of her life. Mrs. Kozak was a cashier at the Rodeway Inn before she retired. She was a member of the Walnut Park Congregation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,and was a volunteer n the operation Sunshine program at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ada Ruth Brunson, and a sister, Mrs. Marguerite McEvoy, both of Independence; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Carson Independence Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the church memorial fund.
