Dear mother farewell.
You so sweetly are sleeping,
A smile on your lips -
After long hours of pain,
And though we shall miss you,
And long for you, mother,
It were wrong to wish you with us again.

Gone home, to the dear ones
Waiting in glory, - Whose hands
Led you down by the waters of death,
Gone home - blessed mother,
You are resing in Jesus;
Farewell! Farewell!
Sleep, sweetly sleep
