Metter - Minnie Hadden Edenfield, age 93, of Metter, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, after an extended illness. She was a native of the Marvin Community in Toombs County, and was a graduate of Toombs Central High School. She lived in Toombs and Tattnall Counties most of her life and in Candler County since 1990. She was a former member of the Metter Church of God, and was a member of the Twin City Church of God. Her entire focus on life was God and her family. She was preceded by her husband, Rufus Jones Edenfield, Sr.; a son, Virgil Edenfield; a great-grandson, Jeb Crosby, and eight siblings.
Mrs. Edenfield is survived by six children, Rufus Jones Edenfield, Jr. and wife Michelle of Wagner, South Carolina, Harmon Edenfield and wife Jessie of Augusta, Josephine Hendrix and husband G.W. of Cobbtown, Ronald Edenfield and wife Kathy of Villa Rica, Renee Aldrich and husband Broadus of Metter, and Rhonda Rutan and husband Ray of Vidalia; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with her grandson, Reverend Bryan Edenfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Ogeechee Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro GA 30459.
