She was born on Jan. 20, 1926, in Canton, Ill., a daughter of William and Grace (Bonney) Baxter. Nellie married Clyde Fouts on Aug. 10, 1944, in Canton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1991.
She also was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jenny Lynn; five sisters; and one brother.
Nellie is survived by three daughters, Judie (and John) Gorsuch of Astoria, Ill., Janet Fouts of Bushnell, Ill., and Lana (and Pete) Hendrickson of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Chris Gorsuch, Andy (and Lynsey) Gorsuch, Jonathan Gorsuch, Tyler (and Sara) Woodside, Jeremy Hendrickson and Joshua Hendrickson; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Martha Gamble of Canton, Ill.
Nellie worked her entire life. She was a file clerk at Lewistown Ag. She also worked at C & M in Banner, Ill., was owner/operator of the Corner Cafe in Duncan Milles, Ill., and the Broadway Cafe in Astoria.
Interment will be in the Astoria Cemetery.
