Percy Barnes, Manton

Percy Barnes of Fife Lake died tuesday Aug 9, 2005 at his home after a short illness. He was 75.

He was born on May 25, 1930 in Manton to Percy and Emma ( Longstreet) Barnes. He married Bonnie Smith on
feb 1. 1985 in South Broadman.

Mr Barnes graduated from Manton High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1949-1954. He worked as a journeyman electrician and also at Weiden Industrial, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed being in the woods and outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, golf , trapping, berry picking and mushroom hunting.

Mr Barnes dearly loved being with his family. He was member of the Manton VFW post 7806 and Fife Lake American Legion Post, 219.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie; children Douglas (Barbara) Barnes of Harietta, Cindy (Tom) Reichhardt of Manton, Janet Mahler of Illinois, Dean Barnes of Kalkaska, Tena(Bill)Auger of Manistee Lake, Bryant(Mary)Skillern of Mancelona, Mona Anderson and Todd Skillern both of Fife Lake, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, brother Darrel(Gertrude)Barnes of Ravenna, sisters; Norma Lickley of Port Huron, and Bertha(Carl)Vincent of Manton.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold and Lawrence and sisters Jean Goodwin and Irma Warden.

Services are 1 pm Saturday at Hall Funeral Chapel in Manton with Rev. Cliff Burritt of Boon Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery in Fife Lake. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at the funeral home.
