DEATH TAKES LYMAN CLARK

Lyman Clark, for 22 years a resident of the Freeze district near Potlatch, Idaho, passed away on January 9 at the home of his son, after an illness of several months.

He was born in Ontario, Canada on January 12, 1842, the son of Charles Clark and Mary Jane (Davis) Clark.

At the age of 23, he emigrated to Gratiot County, Michigan where he bought 40 acres of timberland and proceeded to make a home.

He was married to Mary Jane Eckert in June of 1867.

He moved to Minnesota in the fall of 1882 and was located on a farm near Thief River Falls, being among the first settlers in this part of the state.

After living there for 22 years, he decided to go West and took a trip to Idaho in July of 1904. After buying an 80-acre farm, he returned east, sold his property there, and moved his family to their new home in November of the same year.
