Rilla's husband was Millard Filmore Sadler (b: 22 Dec 1853 NC). They were married on 8 Nov 1877 in Swangwater, NC. After they were settled in Cherokee Co. for a number of years he decided to go to South America and start a farm. In the early 1920's the family received a letter stating he had purchased the farm and was returning to Texas via ship to California and overland from there. He was never heard from again.
