Final rites for William Scott Dean were conducted Tuesday morning Feb 18, 1964, from Worley Funeral Home Chapel and burial was in Waurika Cemetery. The Rev. Melvin Hoffman, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was officiant. Born April 9, 1900 at Hereford, TX. he married Ruby Phelps in Duncan Feb. 17, 1923. Mr. and Mrs. Dean had lived most of their married lives in Waurika, They were parents of nine children. Surviving are four sons and three daughters. They are William Howard and Billie Dean, both of Waurika, Grover Jack of Wichita Falls, James Russell of Fort Knox, Ky.; Mrs. J.D. Price of Fort Hood, TX., Mrs Phillip Bush of Tillamook, Ore., and Mrs. Ruben Mora of Wichita Falls. also surviving are three brothers, Ed Dean of Wichita Falls, TX. Bryant and Fred, both of Lawton, OK. Three sisters, Mrs. R.C. Eastus of Lawton, Cleo King of Wichita Falls, TX, and Mrs. Paul Phillips of Fletcher; and 25 grandchildren.
