Oaka was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband Tommy owned and operated The Lazy K Motel in Vernal for 42 years, She also worked for the Cleaners, and the U.S. Postal Service. Oaka was a friend to everyone and loved to visit with people, She was known as "Aunt O."
She is survived by her husband, Elbert "Tommy;" son, Karl (LaRae) Baese of Vernal; grandson, Scott Baese of Vernal; granddaughters, Teri Rae (Ryan) Jensen of Monument, Colo.; Brooke (Aaron) Jolley of Vernal; great-granddaughter, Randi (Allen) Welch of Denver, Colo.; great-grandson, Stuart Jensen; great-granddaughter; Rachel; great-granddaughter, Lindsy Jolley; great-grandsons, Donovan and Braden Jolley; great-great-grandson, Porter Welch; special friends, Donna (Kenny) Price family and Lyle (Katheryn) McCarrel family.
