The Glasgow native was born Aug. 31, 1917. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1936. She worked as a statistician for the Carbondale Police Department in Carbondale, Ill., and in Kentucky at the Office of Public Assistance, Motor and Electric Supply Co., and Kentucky Utilities as a legal secretary in Bowling Green. On Jan. 2, 1957, she married Julian Richard "Dick" Berry. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2008. She was a daughter of the late George Washington Reynolds and Laura Beaty Reynolds. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Garland and Wood Reynolds; and a sister, Virginia Reynolds.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Whitman and her husband, Mike, of Augusta, Kan.; a sister, Bessie Nance of Glasgow; and many dearly loved nephews and nieces.
