Fay Young Allen, 86, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at her home in Gatesville. Graveside Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Wood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Fay was born in Coryell County, Texas, one of 13 children born to the late Guy and Jeffie (Blackwell) Young. She graduated from Jonesboro High School and married Elmo V. Allen on July 5, 1942. Together, they traveled all over the world while he was in the U.S. Air Force. She was a member of Gatesville Church of Christ.
Fay is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Gillis and husband, Kirk, and Andra Leah Powell and husband, Kent; sister, Lela Boswell; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
