Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Grace Loucille (Kesler) Coleman; two daughters and son-in-law, Mary Majel Coleman of Dayton, Elizabeth Viola and James A. Beckett of Gratis; a sister-in-law, Eva L. Kesler of Gratis; eight foster children; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Ralph and Earl Coleman; and three sisters, Lucille Coleman, Bessie Morningstar and May Silvers.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 13, at Gratis United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harlan Sorensen and the Rev. Hearon Carmack officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
