Rosalia July Davis Carter, 74, of Provo, died Sunday Dec 14, 1986 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo of Cancer.
She was born July 28, 1912 in Salem to Henry Orson and Flora O. Thompson Davis. She married William Leon Moore. They later divorced. She married William R. Carter Nov. 24, 1934 in Evanston, Wyoming. He died Dec. 2 1965.
She received her education in Salem and Spanish Fork schools. Following her marriage she and her husband made their home in Spanish Fork and later moved to Provo where she has lived since. She has served as a foster grandparent for several years.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2924.
Survivors include one son, seven daughters. William Albert Carter, JoAnn Carter, Harlene Carter, ShirlDean Moore, Mrs Bob(Flora Jean)Cassels, all of Provo.; June Cowgill, Pleasant Grove. Mrs Dale (Joy)Hoppe, of Springville. Mrs. Joe(Rosalia)Mecham, of Vernal. 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one brother, six sisters; Ken Drage, Hazel Haycock, Mrs. Darrell(Wilma)Beck. all of Spanish Fork; Cookie Marvets, Mrs, Jay(Jessie)Gray, both of Provo, Gert Mann, Murray. Beatrice Bell, Sacramento, Calif. She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, Provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Thursday 6-8 p.m. or on Friday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
