Biography
Vidal Maestas, Jr. – Age 66 a resident of Española passed away on Wednesday, September 27th, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents: Vidal, Sr. and Alicia Maestas; sister, Teresa Maestas; brother, Rubel Maestas; and special niece, Beverlie Maestas. May their souls rest in peace. Mr. Maestas retired as a quality control inspector at Eberline Electronics. He was especially close with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Maestas; daughters: Yvette and husband Donald and Debbie and husband Kenneth; granddaughters raised by him, Rochelle and Andrea Martinez; grandson, Jason Martinez; granddaughters: Keegan Maestas and Tyler Rose Vargas; great granddaughters: Elicia and Miquela Martinez and Delilah Maestas; sisters: Emelia Chavez, Carol Maestas, Lydia Montano and husband Toby, Anita Salazar and husband Wilfred, Flora Garcia and husband Leroy, Jenny Archuleta and husband Freddie, Corrine Romero and husband Phil and Rosalie Handrahan; brother, Bernie Maestas and wife Irene; father-in-law, Silviano Talamante; brothers and sisters-in-law: Salamon Talamante and wife Corina, Michelle Valencia and husband Donnie, Johnny Talamante, Michael Talamante and wife Elenor, Sylvia Talamante, Andy Vigil and Mela Vigil; special nephews: Randy Maestas and wife Kathleen, Larry Maestas and wife, Phylissa and Alice Garcia; special friends: Francisco Martinez, Gilbert Lopez and Yolanda Maestas-Montoya; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 29th, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo. Burial will follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Randy and Larry Maestas, Warren and John Salazar, Jason Martinez and Gilbert Lopez.
