Promoted to 1st Lieutenant on October 19, 1863.

Wounded on November 27, 1863 at Taylor's Ridge at Ringgold Gap, GA. Died from his wounds on November 28, 1863 at Taylor's Ridge, GA. Originally interred at Ringgold Gap, GA.
