James Brian Ahearn, 67, of Hurricane, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on August 6, 1940, the son of the late James P. and Martha C. (Snow) Ahearn. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Barry Ahearn.

Jim was a retired branch manager with Chrysler Financial, member of the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Hurricane, served his country with the United States Army in the 1st Calvary Division during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his loving children, James J. Ahearn of Pompton Lakes, N.J., Todd Ahearn of Dayton, Ohio, and Michelle Crites of Grafton; and his sister, Susie Strobel of Pittsburgh, Pa. Jim is also survived by two grandchildren, Tyler Matthew Crites and Kaitlyn Paige Ahearn; and a host of other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2008, at Catholic Church of the Ascension, 905 Hickory Mill Rd., Hurricane, with celebrant Father Neil Buchlein officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday February 10, 2008, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Rd., Hurricane.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 301 RHL Blvd, Suites 6 & 7, Charleston, WV 25309, in Jim's honor.
