Foreman Dies in Hospital
Carl W. Schuler, 59, 706 Croton
St., died Saturday in Rome Hospital,
where he had been a patient'
for a month.
Born in the Town of Verona
March 10, 1884, he was the son of
the late Leo and Matilda Ellison
Schuler. A resident of Rome for
43 years, he was foreman of the
rod mill of the General Cable
Corp., where he was employed for
27 years. On June 26, 1906, he
married Ellen Tyrrell in St. Peter's
Church. The ceremony was
performed by the Rt. Rev. Msgr
James J. Carson, M.R., V.F. Mr.
Schuler was a communicant of
St. Mary's Church and a member
of its Holy Name Society.
Surviving besides his wife are
seven daughters, Mrs. Edward M
Nelson, the Misses Marieh, Nora,
Rosemary, Margaret, Rita and
Doris, all of Rome, three sons,
Philip C. and Robert J. Schuler
Rome, and Sgt. William J. Schuler,
North Africa. He also leaves
two .sisters, Mrs. Helen Schmutz,
Oneida; Mrs. Michael McGarty,
Rome: and five brothers, Edward
Verona: Albert, Leo, Louis and
Frank Schuler, Rome; three
grandchildren, s e v e r a l nieces,
nephews and cousins.
