Robert E. Allison Sr., 67, of Eaton, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton. He was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Dayton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired from A.N.S. Asphalt Company. Mr. Allison was a member of American Legion Post #215 of Eaton. He was preceded in death by his father, John G. Allison; first wife, Martha A. (Stoner) Allison, on Oct. 2, 1989; a brother, Roy Allison; sisters, Barbara Allison and Mary Mescher.

Survivors include his mother, Alice L. (Pottinger) Allison of Dayton; wife, Dorothy A. (Karns) Ditmer Allison; sons, Robert E. (Gail) Allison Jr. and Bruce E. (fiancee Buffy Lindsey) Allison, both of Eaton; daughters, Connie (Huey) Stephen and Karen (Daren) Marshall, both of Eaton, and Cathy McKean of Richmond, Ind. Also surviving are stepchildren, Chris (Allison) Ditmer, David (Tonna) Ditmer and Mickey (Deanna) Ditmer, all of Eaton, Gene (Christine) Ditmer of Dallas, Texas, Tom (Tina) Ditmer of Mendon, Ohio, Steve (Jo) Ditmer of Delmar, Del., Tony (Mindy) Ditmer of Miamisburg, and Kathy (Bill) McCullough of Brookville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 17 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence, Bill and Roger Allison, all of Dayton; sisters, Carol Brush of West Carrollton and Helen Crigler of Riverside, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, April 5, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, Eaton, with the Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad, 324 N. Maple St., Eaton, OH 45320.
