A member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 67 yrs. where he served as a deacon; an Army veteran and retired carpenter for Robertson Lumber Company,
He was a son of the late Leemon and Rita Sigler Baker.
He was preceded in death by a son, William David Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 59 yrs., Velma Louise Hunt Baker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Ray "Buddy" and Heidi Sue Baker of Princeton and Carl and Benita Baker of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Ann Clark of Madisonville and Vera Ellen and Jim Poindexter of Caldwell Co.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Jane Doom Baker; a brother, Wilburn Baker of Princeton; a sister Mildred Son of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services conducted June 16 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. The Rev. Jerry Holeman will officiate assisted by the Rev. Tom Keim.
Military graveside services will be conducted at the Cemetery.
