FALL FATAL TO CLEO ALLOWAY LAST SATURDAY

Injuries received Friday evening from a car on which he was working proved fatal Saturday afternoon to Cleo W. Alloway, 26, of Wichita.

He had been working on a car at the garage which he operated at 3000 South Seneca, and was standing on the running board of the machine. Spectators said that he apparently went to reach for something in the back, and missed his step, falling backward on the pavement.

He was rushed to Wichita hospital, but never regained consciousness.

Services were held at the Clearwater Methodist church Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Vernon Maxted of Wichita, assisted by Rev. F. E. Good.

Interment was made in the Clearwater cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Aldridge mortuary.

Following is the obituary read:

Cleo Wesley Alloway, son of J. W. and Lilly O'Dessa Alloway, was born October 14, 1915, at Conway Springs, Kansas, and passed away Saturday, May 2, at the Wichita hospital, at the age of 26 years, 5 months and 18 days.

Most of his early life was spent in rural schools. He attended high school at Conway Springs.

He was united in marriage to Eleanor Mae Johnson of August 21, 1937.

He had been a mechanic since just a boy and at the time of his death operated a garage at 3000 South Seneca.

His mother preceded him in death several years ago.

He is survived by his wife; his father, J. W. Alloway of Mulvane; a brother, Wayne of Wichita; three sisters, Mrs. Milo Wolf of Anness; Mrs. Louie Fitz of Argonia and Irene Alloway of Mulvane.
