Josie M. Vigil, age 78, a lifelong resident of San Jose, N.M., passed away on Friday Jan. 4, 2008, in Albuquerque.
She was born on May 25, 1929, to the late Basilio Vigil and Julia Montoya Vigil. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Margarito, Agapito, Frank, Ramon, Ruben and Chris.
Josie is survived by her brothers and sisters: Joe Vigil and wife Mary Ann of San Jose, N.M., Isidore Vigil and wife Dina of Apple Valley, Calif. and Ida Olivas and husband Mac of Albuquerque. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited this morning followed by a funeral mass at San Jose Catholic Church. The funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. C. John Brasher. Interment followed the mass at San Jose Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Herman Gonzales, Joseph Vigil, Louie Vigil, Danny Vigil, Johnny Vigil and Ronnie Vigil.
Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
