Kevin Lee Garlick's extraordinary life journey ended Dec. 30, 2007.

Kevin was born in August of 1959 at George Air Force Base and lived his life in the High Desert. His great loves included family, work and fishing.

Kevin operated a small home repair and remodeling business. His creative wood, stone and brick work graces many homes and businesses throughout the community. Kevin was a true craftsman.

For the last six years, Kevin's path was one of truth and sobriety. He represented himself honestly in all areas and set a wonderful example to everyone who enjoyed the privilege of being with him. He possessed a strength, grace and dignity unrivaled ... he personified honor, respect and integrity.

Kevin was a devoted father, a beloved uncle, a wonderful brother, a loyal friend, a caring son, and an excellent life partner. His journey is a proud example of determination and grit ... he found his happiness and lived life well.
Kevin's legacy continues with each and every person he leaves behind.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Shellie; sons, David and Jack; his grown children Joseph, Krystal, Amy and Drew; eight grandchildren; parents, Art and Shirley Garlick; brothers, Art and Kerry; sister, Pam; in-laws, Buz and Betty Callaway; a large extended family, many dear friends, and his I.E. Homeboys and Homegirls.

Words cannot express how much he will be missed, but the positive impact he had on so many will continue to shine forever.

As his blue eyes closed for the final time, know he found the peace that eludes us all in life. Rest easy, my love, the journey is done.

A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties or to Odyssey Health Care Foundation.

Published in the Daily Press, Hesperia Star & Desert Dispatch from 1/3/2008 - 1/4/2008.
