SAN ANGELO - Milford Beavers was born Aug. 20, 1927, to Forest and Ivey Beavers in Franklin County, Texas. He was the youngest of seven children. He passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at the age of 80. The visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Johnson's Funeral Home. The family will also have a visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Adamsville Baptist Church in Adamsville, Texas. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in Straley Cemetery in Adamsville, Texas. His nephew Kenneth Beavers will officiate. He grew up on farms, mostly in Texas around Adamsville, Texas. His first job was in an egg drying plant in Lampasas, processing dried eggs for the troops during World War II. At age 18, he moved to Big Lake, Texas and worked as office manager for Bert F. Duesing for 23 years. In 1972, he and his mother moved to San Angelo, where he worked in the Finance Department for the City Of San Angelo, retiring March 30, 1990. Milford was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1203 in Big Lake for almost 60 years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters Ethel and Velma; and brothers, Wilburn, Milton and Melvin. He is survived by his sister, Annie Straley of Adamsville; and sons Johnny and wife Carol of Big Lake and Bob Beavers and wife Ellen of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Bobby Beavers Jr. and wife Kim, Charles Beavers and wife Susan, and Rebecca Beavers, all of San Angelo, and Mike Beavers and wife Dawnell, and Nickie Holland and husband Clint, all of Big Lake; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
