Dorothy C. Austin, 90, formerly of Hanover and Venice, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at the Oakwood Health Care Center in Tell City.

She was born March 20, 1912, in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Homer A. and Mary Carolyn Myers Chambers. She was a homemaker, spent most of her life in Scottdale, Pa., and was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church and the Venice Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Ann Gaskin of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; one son, Dr. David R. Austin of Bloomington; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dr. Ronald L. Austin, a former Hanover College professor, Nov. 20, 1995.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Hanover Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hanover Presbyterian Church.

The Vail-Holt Funeral Home Hanover Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
