Vivian was my mother's best friend for over 35 years. She had been in poor health for years because of her diabetes, but in recent months her condition had declined. My mom told me that Vivian had been making her own funeral arrangements. She passed away just days before Christmas, just minutes after my mother visited her for the last time.

Survivors are her sons, Owen, Dave and Bob Hamrick, all of Painesville; daughter, Frances Cantrel of North Perry; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert H. Hamrick and son, Larry Hamrick.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
