DEATH OF A PIONEER
At his home on Table Bluff, Frederick K. Bartlett answered the imperative summons of death Wednesday evening, and his spirit left a body that had been pain-racked for nearly two years. At that time he became afflicted with blood poisoning in one of his hands and about two months ago, a tumor, which directly resulted in his taking off, begun to grow on his neck. The deceased was about sixty-nine years of age. With his wife and children he came to this county in 1873 from Pennsylvania. Before the Eel River Railroad was built he hauled freight from the Hookton warehouse at South Bay to Rohnerville. From Loleta, where he was one of the pioneer settlers, the family moved to the Table Bluff ranch, which he has since farmed. To mourn his loss are left one sister, Mrs. Jennie Millinor, four sons, Eugene, Ernest, Irvine and Louis Bartlett, and three daughters, Mrs. Rose Stuart, Mrs. Eva Stuart and Miss Bertha Bartlett. The funeral will take place at two o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by the Rev. B. B. Connors of Fortum M. E. Church, of which deceased was a member. The interment will be in the Table Bluff Cemetery by the side of his wife, who preceded him to the Great Beyond about three years ago.
