Le Constable Marmaduke Graburn a été le premier membre de la Police Montée du Nord-Ouest à être tué alors qu'il était en fonctions. Cet ancien marin a été recruté à Ottawa et a été assermenté à Fort Walsh (Territoires du Nord-Ouest) le 9 juin 1879. Il a été tué le 17 novembre 1879 et inhumé dans le petit cimetière de Fort Walsh.
