Ruth Elaine Benda, 92, of Salina, KS., passed away, Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at Hospice of Salina
Mrs. Benda was born in Beeville, Texas on July 6, 1915, the daughter of the late William and Hilda Marie (Thiele) Wieters.
She had attended the University of Nebraska where she received her teaching certificate.
Mrs. Benda was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage she was a teacher and bookeeper .
She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Odell, Nebraska where she was a "Gold Star Member"
Mrs. Benda was the widow of Donald Frank Benda. They were married July 1, 1939 in Nebraska.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanham, Nebraska
Mrs. Benda is survived by 3 daughters: Patricia, wife of Gail Jones of Salina, Kansas; Susanne, wife of Glen LeRoy of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; and Rosemary Benda of San Francisco, California.
She is also preceded in death by 2 daughters: infant Jean Benda and Connie Benda; one son Donnie Benda; 2 brothers: Robert and Alfred Wieters
A memorial service will be at a later date in the spring of 2008.
