Mr. Claude L. Disney, age 68, of Gray, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday November 27, 2007 in the Knox County Hospital. He was the husband of Ruby [Spurlock] Disney and the son of Rev. Fred Disney and Mary Belle (Fisher) Disney. He was born on June 21, 1939 in Knox County, Kentucky. He was a member of the Old Time Baptist Church and was known as "The Painter". He loved to fish, whittle and carve and he loved to be around his kids and family and loved his dog, Bozo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Belle Disney, one grandson who he raised as his child, Joseph Curtis Roop and two sisters, Helen Burke and Eula Faye Jackson. Survivors include his wife Ruby of Gray, Kentucky, one son Walter Disney and wife Heather of Woodbine, Kentucky, six daughters, Dora Irvin and husband Tony of Charlottesville, Virginia, Joyce Hatfield and husband Dennis of Corbin, Alice Patterson and husband Roger of Gray, Kentucky, Melinda Roark and husband Eric of Red Bird, Kentucky., Claudia Lawson and husband Jimmy of Keavy and Tammy Foy and husband Charlie of Charlottesville, Virginia, two grandchildren he raised as his own children, Charles Brandon Disney and Chasity Jo Roop both of Gray, Kentucky, one sister, Hazel Thomas of Barbourville and one brother, Fred Disney and wife Ruth of Barbourville, . He also leaves behind nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with a host of many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Claude Disney will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Farmer and Rev. Greg Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hatfield, David Wyatt, Eric Roark, Mike Hensley, Bobby Gray and James Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dr. Kumar and Staff, Dr. West and Staff, Leon Smith and all the nurses and staff at the Knox County Hospital. Burial will be in the Lawson-Spurlock Cemetery at Owens Hollow. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
