Louise Milton Smith was born in Arkansas on August 25, 1862.
During the Civil War she came with her parents to Illinois, where she resided until she departed this life June 6, 1929, at the age of 66 years, 9 months, 11 days.
She was united in marriage to Allen C. Smith, October 10, 1880. To this union were born ten children, two which died in infancy. Those remaining are Cora B. of Kinmundy, Earnest O. of Princeville, Herschel I. of Chicago, Ibri N. of Saginaw, Michigan, Floyd L. of Flora, Elva I. of Olney, Fern L. of Fairmount, and Asher A. at home.
About forty years ago, she united with the Christian church, remaining true to her faith until death.
She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, eight children, sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, two brothers; a half sister, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, and a friend to all who knew her.
A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
