She was born in Ozark, Arkansas, to Henry Hugo and Lee Ella (Childers) Wisdom. She graduated from Ozark High School in the class of 1948 and later attended Draughn's Business College in Arkansas. She married Danny Buel Buckner on Aug. 27, 1950, in Ozark, Ark. While her husband served with the United States Navy, they lived in various locations until his retirement. After his retirement, the family moved to McAlester in November 1967, and she began working at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. She worked from 1968 until 1993, as secretary to the chief of security, the deputy warden and the warden during her career with the Department of Corrections. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and all family activities. She was a resident of McAlester and died at her home at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Ella and Hugo Wisdom; a son, Steve Buckner; a sister, Doris Williams, and two brothers, August Devoy Wisdom and Norman H. Wisdom.
