Funeral services for Elmo Schwab, who died on Thursday in a Galveston hospital, were held on Monday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston under the direction of J. Levy and Bro. Funeral Home. Interment was in the Gonzales City Cemetery at 4 p.m. that day.
Pallbearers were Ted Allmond, Ed Harris, Dr. W.W. Bondurant, Jerry Barker, Dr. Michael Boyers and Philip Gilliam.
Mr. Schwab was born on Jan. 17, 1937 in Gonzales and was a long-time resident of Galveston. He was a member of Trinity Church there.
He was an attorney in Galveston for over 30 years and founding member of the law firm of Schwab and Radcliffe L.L.P. He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas.
His preparatory and legal education included the University of Texas with a bachelor of arts degree in 1959, Plan II; L.L.B. in 1962 and the University of Houston, where he received a master's degree in humanities in 1980. He was board certified in Family and civil Trial Law and was a member of the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity; Galveston County (president 1985-86) and American Bar Associations; State Bar of Texas, Family Law Council; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists; Texas Academy of Family Law....
