Deceased Name: THERESA M. BERNIER
Theresa M. Bernier, 69, of Cushing Street died Wednesday at Mid Coast Hospital.
She was born here, a daughter of Joseph A. and Mary Blanchard LaPointe Sr., and attended local schools.
On Sept. 3, 1949, she married Robert J. Bernier.
Mrs. Bernier worked at the Cabot-Verney Mill and later at Woolworth's, Duval's Bakery and Grumbachers before retiring from Sears in 1992.
She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Her interests involved taking an active role in her son's Scouting, sports and band activities and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of Brunswick; her son, Mark Bernier of Brunswick; two brothers, Joseph LaPointe of Lewiston and Robert LaPointe of Topsham; two grandsons, Mark A. Bernier Jr. of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Jason P. Bernier of Bath; and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
