Born in Dunnville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Thomas Arthur and Gertie Ulzo (Rainwater) Pendleton. She married Ernest William Mayo on May 19, 1927, in Talihina. He preceded her in death in 1982. She passed away in McAlester at the age of 94. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mena Paul Mayo, and Wayne "Dink" Jackson Mayo; a daughter, Mary Ellen Lee and son-in-law, Baxter Lee; one brother, Noble Pendleton, and a grandson, Chad Lee Mayo.
