Austin, Texas - BETTY VIRGINIA ANDERSON, 81, of Austin, Texas, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009, in Austin.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in Marlow (Okla.) Cemetery, with the Rev. Travis Muse officiating. Burial will be under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Betty was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Cedar Vale, Kan., to Julius Pack and Eva Combs Pack. She graduated from Cedar Vale High School. Betty married James Mac Anderson on May 21, 1946, in Cedar Vale. He preceded her in death June 12, 1995. Betty lived in the Central High and Marlow area for many years before moving to Harlingen in 2001. She later moved to Austin in 2006. Betty loved to read and do needlework. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV. Betty was involved with the Oklahoma Brittany Association, doing field trials and showing Arabians. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include three daughters, Sondra Kay Masterson and husband Chris of Austin, Texas, Cheryl Ann Ocker and husband Ben Kelley of Odessa, Texas, and Deborah Sue Smith and husband James of Driftwood, Texas; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Downs of Winfield, Kan.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Billy Pack and Julius "Dudy" Pack.
