Edward V. Peters, 68, of 121 Green St., Rockton, died at the Park Strathmoor Nursing Home in Rockford, Saturday.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1917, in Walworth, Wis., the son of Victor and Maletta Siebel Peters. He married Harriett Wisman on Nov. 18, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa.
Mr. Peters was employed as a welder by Yates American Machine Co. for 28 years. He retired in 1980.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kenneth, LeRoy and Larry, all of Rockton; a daughter, Charlotte (Mrs. Paul) Cox, Jr., of Roscoe; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Carol of Zenda, Wis. and Kenneth of Beloit. He was predeceased by his parents.
The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel, with Pastor James G. Kromer, of St. Andrew Lutheran Church of Rockton, officating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm. Tuesday at the chapel.
