Funeral services will be4 held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada for Ida Backous, 91, who died early this morning at the Oak Park Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient the past 3 months. She was born April 1, 1882 to Samuel and Charity Conn near Maxwell and had lived in Story County her entire life time. She is survived by two sons, Cecil of Boone and Forrest of Des Moines; one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Bates of Ames; eleven grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Bobo of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one son and her husband, Arthur who died in 1942. Officiating the services will be rev. Robert Baker. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery."
