Ruth B. Burns, 88, died Saturday, January 18, 1997 at her residence. Born July 30, 1908 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Betty Russell Best. She was the widow of Roy James Burns. She was a homemaker and a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church and Mercer County Senior citizens. Survivors include: one son, J. H. Burns, Salvisa;; two grandchildren, Faith and David Burns, Salvisa, several nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Burns were held Monday, January 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Logue and Rev. Hilary Claypool officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
