Earl Judson "Happy Jack" Costner, 93,of Bessemer City, died September 14, 2007 at Rehabilitation and Health Center of Gastonia. He was born in Gaston County on January 1, 1914, to the late Thomas Lee and Mamie Lavar Holland Costner.

INTERMENT: Westview Gardens, Bessemer City

Earl was a member of Holland Memorial Baptist Church, Bessemer City. He served in the United States Navy and was a minister for many years.

SURVIVORS: sons: Sanford Costner of Alabama, David Costner of Pennsylvania, Earl Costner, Jr. of Mt Holly; daughters: Eleanor Hall of Belmont, Nancy Huffstetler of Mt. Holly; brother: Jerry Costner of Bessemer City; sisters: Nellie Neal and Peggy Costner both of Bessemer City, Doris Tino of SC; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews: Julie Conrad, Brandy Edwards, Gage Taylor
