MELBOURNE - Sibyl Emily Walker Harvell, 89, of Melbourne died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at a Calico Rock hospital.

Born April 5, 1914, in Lunenburg, she was the daughter of Christopher Greenleaf Walker and Della Byler Walker. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was married to John Owen Harvell on June 22, 1930.

Survivors include four sons, Wayne Harvell and Kenneth Harvell, both of Melbourne, Roger Harvell of Greenville, S.C., and Grady Harvell of North Little Rock; two daughters, Wanda Byram and Gaye Balentine of Melbourne; 22 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two daughters, Myrna Joy Harvell and Doris Jean Hutchins; three brothers; six sisters; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Hoover Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers will be Sam Edwards, Anthony Harvell, David Harvell, Tim Harvell, Dennis Hutchins and Jeff Stroud.

Honorary pallbearers are Greg Stroud, Donald Hutchins, Ronnie Hutchins, Mike Harvell, Johnny Harvey, Nathan Edwards, Eric Harvell, Robbie Harvell and Russell Stroud.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the Harvell Family Scholarship through the University of Arkansas.
