IRA C. BEARD, one of the most prominent men in the village of Fayetteville, died suddenly at his home in Genesee st., in that village. Heart disease was the cause of death. Mr. Beard had not been well for some time. He was stricken with the fatal attack Tuesday afternoon while his sister, Mrs. Augusta Eaton, was in his room, and before a physician arrived, he expired. Mr. Beard was a son of Beach C. Beard, 2d, and was well known in Syracuse and Fayetteville. He was born in the village, where he had been almost a lifelong resident, on Nov. 7, 1846. For a few years he was engaged in railroading and contracting in Southern states. Surviving are a brother, Beach H. Beard of Fayetteville, and three sisters, Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. Ida B. Ecker of Fayetteville, and Mrs. John O. Evans of Washington, D.C., who is now abroad. Mrs. Ecker is seriously ill, and owing to her condition, the funeral at 3 p. m. tomorrow will be private.
