Married Elizabeth McPheeters Garrett 23 Aug 1814, moved to Monroe Co., IN in fall of 1819 and to Greene Twp., Woodford Co. IL and farm in the fall of 1834. This was 7 years before Woodford Co. was formed. He had 160 acres. Ten children: William H., Garrett, Stephen, Alexander, Rankins, John J. Sarah J., Elizabeth A., Mary I. and James.John H. was a soldier in the War of 1812 with Col. D. Johnson. Two sons Stephen and Alexander are also buried in Carroll Cemetery.
