Martin was the son of William Alonzo "A.L." McDaniel and Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Chambers) McDaniel.

Martin was married to Lillie Oleda Cox. No record of the dates or place of marriage. They had two children. Martin and Lillie later divorced.

M.L. McDANIEL PASSES AWAY

Martin L. McDaniel, 76, of Comanche died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, August 25, in a local hospital. He was born August 23, 1892 in Gap, and had been a resident of Comanche for the past 14 years. He was a retired farmer.

Services for Mr. McDaniel were held at 5 p.m. Monday, August 26th from the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Hudson of De Leon officiating.

Interment was in the Stag Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Mrs. J. P. Jones of Comanche and Mrs. Nora Yancey, Brownwood; 5 brothers, Lonnie McDaniel, Sidney; Ernest McDaniel, May; Claude McDaniel, Premont; Parker McDaniel, Gorman; Roy McDaniel, Comanche.
