Obituary for Amon Doyle Lee from the Garfield County Panguitch Paper

Amon D Lee is Called to Reward

Funeral services for A. D. Lee, 68, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Josephine Jorgensen, in Manti Monday of this week, were held in the South Ward chapel Wednesday afternoon. Bishop Wilford Roe, of the South Ward, conducted the services.

Amon Doyle Lee was born January 15, 1872, at Kanab and was the son of John D. and Caroline Williams Lee. When he was a small boy his parents spent some time in Arizona sections before moving to Panguitch, where he spent the most of his life.

When a young man, he married Annie Imlay of Panguitch and they made their home here, where Mr. Lee engaged in farming and stockraising. He was also one of the sheep shearing crew that traveled from here and worked at various places at sheep hearding when that business was at its best.

He was instrumental in helping to settle southern Utah and northern Arizona and was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was well liked and respected by his friends and neighbors.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Maggie Dickinson, Delta; Mrs Dudley Proctor, Panguitch, and Mrs Ora Ross, Ogden and one brother, Charles William Lee, Torrey and two sisters, Mrs. Mary M Lamb, San Bernadino, California, and Mrs. Josephine Jorgensen, Manti.

Burial was in the Panguitch City Cemetery.
