Wilson Weeks Sparks was the oldest son of David and Sarah Ann Sparks. He was the husband of Mary Catherine (Williams) Sparks and father of Bertha Williams (Sparks) Harter. He was the grandfather of Mary Emma (Harter) Miller and great-grandfather of Bertha Mae (Miller) Haight. He was the g-g-grandfather of Mary Jane Haight-Eckert, g-g-g-grandfather of Heidi Anne (Eckert) Dunn Boruszewski and g-g-g-g-grandfather of Clifton Jeffrey Dunn. Wilson served during the Civil War.

He was one of the original incorporators of the Crystal Spring Camp Meeting Association, an early Methodist Episcopal Camp, established in 1886. He also served as a trustee of the organization until his death. The camp is located just east of the Bedford County line in Fulton County, Pennsylvania, about 4 miles south of Breezewood. The Association celebrated its centennial in August 1986.
