Theodore J. Blau was born on July 12, 1941 to his parents Anton and Merie (Mohelnitzky) Blau. Theodore grew up on the family farm north of Plain in Franklin Township and attended school at St. Luke's Catholic School in Plain.

In 1959, at the age of 18, he entered the military and was a member of the Army National Guard, serving in Missouri and Oklahoma. He was called up again to serve in the 32nd Infantry Division Artillery at Fort Lewis, Washington during the Berlin Crisis from Oct. 15, 1961 to Aug 10, 1962.

He worked many jobs including owner of Blau's Tap Tavern in Waupun, a meat cutter and manager at various Red Owl Food Stores in Milwaukee, near Port Washington, and Lake Mills; at the U.S. Commissary at Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, Ca; at a meat market in Big Bear, Ca; at Jewel Tea Food Store in Milwaukee, he was owner of Random Meats in Random Lake; he cut meat at Schroedl's County Meat Market at Jefferson and at Saukville Meats in Saukville.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, bike riding, bowling, dancing to country music including his brother's band, The Whiskey River Band; and visits to casinos. He was married a short time to Mary Stewerd White in 1978. He enjoyed traveling and visited places such as Alaska, Hawaii, and Germany.

In 1992, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis which left him confined to a wheelchair. His family and caregivers at LaSata Care Center helped Ted through his difficult and courageous struggle with MS.

At age 66, Theodore died on Sunday August 12, 2007 at the LaSata Care Center in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday August 15, 2007 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain at 12 noon. Father Mike Resop officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Military rites provided by the American Legion Post #398 of Plain. The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
