Edward Buchanan, aged 59 years, one of the members of the patrol crew of the Germantown station-house, and a brother of Police Lieutenant Buchanan, died Friday afternoon [11 September 1896] at his home, Wayne street, near Mannheim, after a few days' illness. He was in the naval service in the war. Mr. Buchanan belonged to a number of beneficial orders, representatives for which were present at the funeral which took place yesterday. Interment in Ivy Hill Cemetery.
Residence 5153 Wayne Ave., Germantown.
Cause of death: Pneumonia.
