Born at the late John E. Madden's Hamburg Place, Lexington, Ky. where his father served as broodmare manager. Son of Frank Aulick & Emma Jett. Brother of Bernadine Aulick Jones.

Married Shirley Margaret Gill in 1944 at Maxwell Field in Montgomery, Ala., parents of F. Gill (Linda Robbins)Aulick & Amy Lynn Aulick (Steve) Brannock.

Graduated from the Army Air Forces Pilot School 1944, serving as a pilot, ranked second lieutenant, he flew B17's during WW II. He managed Elk Hill Farm by P.A.B. Widener, later Spendthrift Farm by Leslie Combs. Later he and Shirley established their own thoroughbred boarding/breaking operation "Cedar Point Farm" in Bourbon County, Ky. Retired to Orange Beach, Ala.
