Ellen Harlow was the daughter of Joseph Harlow and Narcissa Unknown Harlow. She married William Anderson McCormick. The Harlow family lived in Mississippi and Ellen and William lived in Colbert and Lawrence Co., AL after their marriage. Ellen's last residence was in Morgan County, AL just east of the Lawrence County line on what is now called Poole road in the Danville Community.

Two of Ellen's siblings are: Sarah Harlow Christian and Stephen Decatur Harlow.

Her Obituary from the Hartselle Enquirer March 19, 1936 is as follows:

MRS. ELLEN MCCORMICK DIED TUESDAY EVENING

Mrs. Ellen McCormick, 76, of Danville Route 3 died at her home Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral rites were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Johnson's Chapel by Rev. V. L. Smith and interment was directed by Drinkard-Howell.

Mrs. McCormick is survived by two sons, A. R. and C. E. McCormick; three daughters, Mrs. Della Brown, Mrs. Lula Brown and Mrs. Lydia Hensley and 27 grandchildren.

Joseph Harlow, Ellen's father, died in March, 1880 in Morgan County, Alabama as shown on the 1880 Federal Census Mortality Schedules. He is probably buried at Enon Cemetery in Lawrence County.
